Le mois de juillet avance à grands pas et j’ai toujours autant de travail. Plus que 17 jours exactement avant la fin de mon séjour ici et le temps passe de plus en plus vite !
Cette semaine a été remplie de tâches multiples et diverses. Nous avons commencé et fini toutes les pochettes pour le retour du Costa Fascinosa et l’arrivée du Costa Favolosa. Ça n’a pas été une mince affaire et pour une fois, je n’ai pas regretté pas d’avoir deux autres stagiaires pour m’aider. Nous avons aussi préparé les pochettes et tickets du Mein Schiff 3 pour le mois d’aout entier. J’ai aussi dû envoyer des rappels pour les check-in en ligne aux agents.
Comme la semaine dernière, j’ai dû préparer les nouvelles listes de nouvelles réservations pour l’année prochaine et les envoyer à TUI en Allemagne pour qu’ensuite, ils nous envoient les confirmations. Nous avons tellement de réservations pour le Mein Schiff 2 qu’au lieu d’envoyer la liste une fois par semaine, maintenant nous les envoyons deux fois par semaine. Cela prouve que nos agents sont de très bons vendeurs et que le Mein Schiff 2 plait toujours autant même si le bateau n’est pas le plus récent, les croisières plaisent énormément aux maltais. Par conséquent, nous avons eu beaucoup de confirmations à vérifier.
Mercredi matin, j’ai eu la chance de découvrir et de participer à une toute nouvelle facette du travail. En effet, j’ai été au port de la Valette pour aider les guides à accueillir les passagers du MSC Fantasia, les guider vers leurs bateaux respectifs selon l’excursion qu’ils avaient choisi et vérifier leurs tickets. C’était une très bonne expérience et ça m’a changé un peu de ma routine malgré le réveil difficile à 5h30 du matin pour être au port à 7h30. Je suis ensuite retournée au bureau à St Julian’s et la journée a été bien remplie puisqu’avec Kim, nous avons publié un nouveau post sur Facebook et nous avons aussi plié les lettres d’Orange Travel pour les pochettes Mein Schiff.
Pour finir, la journée du vendredi a été, comment dire… Folle. Roberta n’étant pas là ce jour-là (chanceuse), j’ai dû me mettre à son bureau et faire son travail, et je peux vous dire que c’était extrême. J’ai eu tellement de travail qu’avec Kim, nous avons déjeuné à 14h ! J’ai eu énormément d’informations sur les clients comme les numéros de passeport et leurs dates d’expiration à entrer dans les charts et Costa Click. J’ai dû aussi répondre à une demande de cotation pour un couple et deux enfants qui voulaient partir en croisière en septembre mais n’avaient pas de date précise… J’ai donc dû aller chercher toutes les cabines disponibles dans notre logiciel de réservation pour toutes les dates du mois de septembre et ensuite rédiger le mail à l’agent. J’ai aussi dû envoyer des factures et des numéros de réservation à certains agents.
La semaine se finit en beauté avec une journée bien remplie et mon départ imminent pour Gozo pour un weekend de relaxation. Je vais préparer mes affaires :)

The month of July makes great strides and I still have as much work as before. Only 17 days exactly before the end of my stay here and time is running faster and faster!
This week has been filled with multiple and various tasks. We began and finished all the pouches for the return of the Costa Fascinosa and the arrival of the Costa Favolosa. It was no small matter and for once, I didn’t regret to have two other interns to help me. We also had to prepare pouches and tickets for the Mein Schiff 3 of the entire month of August. I also had to send reminders for the online check-ins to the agents.
As last week, I had to prepare new lists of new bookings for next year and send them to TUI in Germany so they can send us confirmations after. We have so much bookings for Mein Schiff 2 that instead of sending the list once a week, now we have to send it twice a week. This shows that our agents are very good sellers and that Mein Schiff 2 is still appreciated even if that ship is not the newest one, cruises are really popular among Maltese. Consequently, we had a lot of confirmations to check.
On Wednesday morning, I had the chance to discover and participate in a new side of my work. Indeed, I went to the port of Valetta in order to help the guides to welcome the passengers of the MSC Fantasia, guide them to their respective boat according to the excursion they chose and check their tickets. It was a very good experience and it change a little from the routine despite the harsh waking up at 5:30am to arrive at the port at 7:30am. Then I returned to the office at St Julian’s and the day has been really full because with Kim, we published a new post on Facebook and we also folded letters from Orange Travel for the pouches of Mein Schiff.
To conclude, Friday has been, how could I say that… Crazy. As Roberta wasn’t there that day (the lucky one), I had to take her desk and do her job, and I can tell you it was extreme. I had so much work that Kim and I only had lunch at 2:00pm! I had a lot of information on customers like their passport numbers and their expiry date to input in the charts and Costa Click. I also had to answer to a quote request for a couple and their two children who wanted to go on a cruise on September but had no specific date… So I had to search for all available cabins in our booking software for all dates of September and then write the mail to the agent. I had to send invoices and reservation numbers to some agents too.
The week ends with a bang with a very busy day and my incoming departure for Gozo for a relaxing weekend. I am going to pack my things :)
